Technical background of forging wheel mold

Background technology:

The world’s automobile industry is developing towards the direction of light weight, high speed, safety, energy saving, comfort and light environmental pollution. Therefore, the use of aluminum alloy parts in automobiles is increasing. As one of the important parts of the automobile driving system, the wheel hub is also a kind of high-requirement security part. It not only bears the weight of the automobile, but also reflects the appearance of the automobile. In the past 10 years, the average annual growth rate of global aluminum alloy automobile wheel production has reached 7.6%.

At present, the methods of manufacturing aluminum alloy wheels at home and abroad are mainly divided into two categories: one is forging, and the other is casting. However, the defects such as shrinkage cavity, loose structure and pores in the casting products are serious, the mechanical strength is low, and the yield is low, which has basically become a trend of elimination.

Traditional forging molds use an integral structure, and each type of wheel hub must correspond to a pair of molds, so the mold storage space, management, maintenance and manufacturing costs are very huge, and the molds that are placed for a long time are very easy to damage.

When the overall structure mold is damaged after pressing, the upper and lower molds need to be replaced as a whole, and the replacement cost is also very huge, which is time-consuming, time-consuming and material-consuming, which increases the production cost of aluminum alloy wheels and causes a great waste of resources.
